Occupy Salem Arts Committee
Mission:
* Recognizing that we each learn and communicate in our own ways, and celebrating the creative spirit within all of us, the Arts Committee’s mission is to facilitate opportunities for artistic expression in support of the Occupy movement within Occupy Salem and the whole community.
Goals:
* To gather supplies, space and teachers for people to create expressive arts including visual arts, fiber arts, poetry, movement and music.
* To reach out to artists and craftspeople and invite their participation in the Occupy movement.
Minutes 10/24:

Discussed mission of the committee
Agreed we need regular, well-publicized classes and events
Tara has interest and ability in crocheting
Open Mic to be held at 5:00
Minutes 10/25:
Tara, Katharine, Beth in attendance
(Meeting was short, standing in the cold after a long, late morning GA)
Brief review of written mission/goals draft, approval of wording from all present
Open Mic happened Monday night.
Prayer/intention flags will happen at 4:00

Nyla, Beth in attendance (Katharine there for post-meeting review)
Nyla is going to print and frame some of her photos and will be looking for some assistance in presentation, location
Nyla will explore connections she has with Reed Opera House and Clockworks to see about gallery space in January for her photos and possibly other art produced in support of Occupy Salem. She will let the Arts committee know what she finds out.
