Agenda:
1. Occupy the Banks
Katherine proposed that OSO endorse and carry out an on-going Occupy-the-Banks action in Salem, to take place 3 Fridays a month from noon to 1:00 p.m. at either the Bank of America, Wells Fargo, or JP Morgan Chase. The 4th Friday will take place at specific local businesses. At the banks, participants would hand out “move-your-money” informational flyers to bank customers and talk with them about the reasons for moving their money to “local” banks and credit unions. The GA adopted the proposal unanimously. The first action is noon to 1:00 p.m., this Friday, June 1, 2012, at the Bank of America office on the corner of High and Center in Salem.
2. GA meetings outside
Gary re-proposed that the GA meet outside at Willson Park when the weather is “good.” The GA acknowledged its earlier agreement, and the logistical problem of deciding and communicating when the weather is “good.” GA ultimately decided that GA meet next week at Willson Park if the weather is “good”, and that: (a) Gary and Bobbie will establish the criteria for determining “good” weather and will post a notice in a prominent place at the Ike Box not later than 6:45, next Tuesday (June 5th) stating whether the GA meeting will be at the Park or downstairs at the Ike Box; and (b) if the GA does meet at the Park, the meeting will start promptly at 7:00 p.m.
There being no further agenda items, the GA meeting was ajourned.
