Thank you : Statement from the OSOGA

[approved by the OSOGA]

Thank you from Occupy Salem Oregon.

The time has come for phase one of Occupy Salem Oregon to came to an end, as our permit for Willson Park expired on November 30th.

At this time, we wish to say thank you to all of the individuals, businesses, churches, unions, colleges, universities, and other organizations, who have provided us with the support necessary to conduct this endeavor of direct democracy.

We must also acknowledge, the Oregon State Parks Service, Oregon State Troopers, Salem City Police, Salem Paramedics, and all of the individuals inside of the State Capitol Building. We say thank you for your help, cooperation, and professional attitude.

We feel that the best way to say thank you is to provide this list of accomplishments, which we have all achieved together!

Two months ago, we would walk by each other on the streets without even saying hello. Today, hundreds of us know each other.

We created a village, and we learned about the dynamics of such an operation.

We served thousands of meals. We provided people with much needed clothing, blankets, and tents. We provided medical services, compassion, and many many hugs.

We have educated each other, we formed committees, and we continue to thrive as we draft legislation to fix the broken policies of our country.

We have already had an impact we the transfer of billions of dollars from banks to credit unions.

We have created communications networks, and web sites. We will be posting a much longer and more detailed list of our accomplishments soon.

As we move into Occupy Salem Oregon 2.0, we will be posting our new schedule for General Assembly Meetings, and Teachings.

Please remember that the work we must do, will take us a long time. So, stay in touch, go to general assembly, attend your committee meetings, show up for marches, rallies, and events. And, continue with your recruitment and outreach programs.

Thank you for caring enough to get involved, and for all that we have achieved together, this is what democracy looks like.

Thank you from your peaceful neighbors at Occupy Salem Oregon.
